"There is a tremendous shortage in over-the-road truck drivers. American Trucking Association's figures estimate a need for 300,000 new drivers every year until the year 2010. Wage scales differ from region to region and also depend on the kind of freight carried. Annual earning in the $25,000 to $40,000 range aren't unusual for over-the-road drivers."
